Simply Sensational Nine Patch Stars

I was asked what patterns I am using for the current bunch of star blocks. The patterns are from Carol Doak's, Simply Sensational Nine Patch Stars. Here's some of the different foundations:

The beauty of these foundations is that you can print them off in whatever size you want and combine them in oodles of different ways. I have a ton of fun with these. I've made dozens since buying the book.

Last night I made two more. You will notice that none of them are the same.
Here are few other samples of different stars I have made by combining many different blocks.

I don't always use centers that are from this book. Last year I was into flower centers. At the moment I cannot remember where these centers came from.

Mattsmom, I think these little blocks would be a great way to use up your two bins of scraps!

They are so great, Do you plan go just grab and go? I have the book but have trouble figuring what color should go where. Are they all 3inches or do you make them differnt sizes? Sorry for the questions, I just want to use up my scraps EASILY before the new year.

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for stopping by.

MM, As long as you keep the background the same light color, you can go as scrappy as you like. Mine are not all that scrappy. I am only using a few different fabrics in each block. But you could have every point a different color if you want. That would be fun.

These ARE sensational! I really like them! Thanks for coming by my new quilt blog and commenting! I use a regular quilting foot when I do my quilting...and yes, I definitely do get puckers sometimes, but I really appreciate your kind comments! I was pretty proud of the duck quilt!
