Poor, poor little Quilt

After work this afternoon DH decided to go out and do a bit of raking.

He asked if I wanted to go outside and rake some of my flower gardens.

It may be spring, but it's only 40 degrees out there. FORGET IT--too cold for me!

I told him to rake to his heart's content, I was staying inside to work on the binding for this quilt.

This is the first quilt I machine quilted--very, very poorly done. Pathetic, actually. It's been sitting for months awaiting a binding.

I've decided that it's time to finish it. The quilting is such an embarrassment that I am not showing a closeup. I am also not signing it.

I don't want anyone to know that I quilted this! That's too bad because the piecing is very nice (if I do say so myself). I've been trying to figure out how I can salvage it--cut it up? No. There really is nothing to do but bind it and try to enjoy it, despite the poor workwomanship.

The quilt is absolutely gorgeous. I'll have to believe when you say the machine quilting is less than wonderful! Use it and enjoy it. We all have those 'firsts' that we'd rather forget!

Zoey I bet it is gorgeous.

hmm, could be equivalent to those days when I try a new recipe and end up calling hubby at work and suggesting that perhaps he'd be happy if he stopped and picked himself up something else to eat???

Don't be so hard on yourself.

I have a few of those early quilts as well. But I use them with pride because each one represents a milestone in my quilting journey. (Besides, my non-quilting friends and family "oooh" and "aaah" over them just the same.) We are often our own harshest critic. I think your quilt is lovely.
